Arbitration Centers in Arab Countries

Arab Arbitration Centers

There is limited information published online regarding the centers and institutions that provide arbitration services in Arab countries. There are many well-established and renowned Arab arbitration centers that have been around for a long time, such as the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, which was founded in 1979 under the umbrella of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization. There are also many other Arab arbitration centers, some of which are well-known while others are not, distributed across the Arab world. Some of these centers operate under the umbrella of chambers of commerce and industry, or were established by law firms or professionals specializing in commercial arbitration. Therefore, it has been difficult to gather comprehensive information on most arbitration centers spread across the Arab world. Additionally, we have observed that some arbitration centers do not provide proper links to their websites, or the information published about their arbitration rules and practices is very limited. For this reason, it is suggested that Arab arbitration centers and institutions put more effort into improving and developing their websites.
